KATANA Zirconia Block

The Job

I was commissioned by the Marketing Manager of Kuraray Noritake NL directly to create a couple of 3D animated promo videos, promoting the Katana Block products and Cerec machine ecosystem at trade fairs in Europe, USA, and Japan.

After that an extended video was commissioned which would explain the product and technical processes with all the detail and information that dentistry professionals expect.

My Role / The Process

— After some brainstorms and iterations with the client, I turned their rough scripts into concrete storyboards.
— Art-directed the whole Japanese/Western visual style, which they loved.
— Designed all the visuals, modeled all the machines and products, animated all the shots.
— Scenes lighted and rendered by a friendly Redshift expert, who made it all look nice and glowy.
— The whole edit came together in After Effects, where I also scripted the project in such a way a single edit could be easily rendered in several languages.
— Modeled and rendered high-res product visuals for print.
